She recently turned 100 years old. She was truly a community advocate volunteering for over 31 years in Rockdale County. She was founding member of Church Women United a mixed race community group, serving as president in it's 2nd year. They established the first recycling location in Conyers.
She was an early EOA employee working in the community; started senior citizen groups in each community. Sponsored fund raisers to help children with school needs; clothes, food, etc. She was also a minister and longtime member of Union Baptist Church in Lithonia. She was inducted into the Black Heritage of Rockdale County Hall of Fame, March 2019. July 20, 2018 was proclaimed Dora Zachery Day.Here is a short clip of this event. https://vimeo.com/282532773
First Lady, Minister Michelle Taylor-Scott

Wife of Pastor Kerwin C. Scott and First Lady of Shiloh Baptist Church in Mansfield, GA. She served in many capacities: Ministerial Staff, Youth and Women's Ministries. She volunteered with Life Link of Georgia and was a member of the Rockdale Chapter of the NAACP. She will be remembered for her dee dedication to family, church, community, and service organizations, demonstrating that she was indeed "Taylor-Made".

A retired orthopedic surgeon who helped to break racial barriers at the Medical College of Georgia, died on April 2, 2016 due to complications related to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was 70 years-old. Dr. Harper was one of the medical school’s first two black students to integrate the Medical College of Georgia; the late Dr. John T. Harper Sr. and Dr. Frank Rumph graduated in 1971.
Dr. Harper provided excellent orthopedic care to patients performing surgeries primarily at Atlanta Medical Center, Crawford Long, and Rockdale County Hospital where for a time he served as Chief of Staff. He also broke racial barriers in Rockdale County's medical community. He was faced with many incident's including all his tires being slashed while he was in his office seeing patients. He retired from patient care in 2008.
