Black Heritage of Rockdale County was formed via Facebook June 2017 where participants could share information, stories, pictures related to the Blacks in Rockdale County that have made contributions in numerous areas such as Education, Civics, Religion, and Sports. The founders are Katrina McCollum Young, E. R. Shipp and Aldren Sadler, Sr. Further, December 2018 we organized and formed a more structured association led by E. R. Shipp and Katrina MuCollum Young. The Conyers Rockdale Council of the Arts with Shelli Siebert, Executive Director, is serving as an incubator, working with us to help us mature the organization into an independent entity.
